The OCS also provides reliable, detailed product information to help consumers make informed decisions about their purchases. OCS is committed to responsible sourcing, testing and quality control. It also works with cannabis stores to verify they are selling in a safe, responsible and lawful manner and that they are in compliance with the Cannabis Licence Act, 2018 and its regulations and standards.
In 2021-22, OCS revenues from the sale of products increased by almost 50% compared to the previous year. Revenues were driven by sales from the OCS online channel and from the increase in the number of retail stores.
A variety of cannabis products are available at OCS, including dried flower, capsules and beverages. A limited selection of infused products is also available at certain retail locations. The OCS website is easy to use and features a large learning section that helps consumers understand how different products work and what effects they can expect from the different cannabis strains.
Recreational marijuana is only sold at OCS and at licensed private retailers in Ontario. Customers must show proof of age, such as a driver’s licence, at the store or when ordering delivery. Individual cannabis product purchase limits are capped at 30 grams of dried flower, which is the maximum amount that can be carried in public.
